At age 19 I fell in love with a girl with Black hair. When she ditched me for another I thought the world had ended and wrote this.
My presence here is a testament, to the fact that the world didnt end . Oh by the way I was a blues singer then too lolo

Didn't it rain last night?
Didn't it torrent and the cold wind howl?
And didn't I cry last night?
Within the depths of my soul,
Then the blues came tumbling round.

And wasn't I wrong last night?
How selfish can life be?
Then weren't you lovely last night/
The cause of all my misery,
Then the blues came tumbling down.

Then didn't I ride last night?
Ride with the devil's haste,
Away on the cold of the night,
Neither moments nor seconds to waste
And the blues came tumbling down.

Yet, how happy I am tonight?
Glad that we're still friends,
And I will not care tonight,
For my love goes on and never ends,
But the blues still tumble down.

the heartache, melancholy of being tossed aside is deep and very much felt through the words of your poem... about the end of world, yeah i relate to that hehe... its not a great time to go through, but it is true that with a bit of time gone by, it settles down in intensity... skillful writing in representing the emotions involved in such a situation... it sent me back to my not so glorious time when my heart was crawling on the floor from a breakup, and yeah that pretty much sums up how i was feeling then... excellent poem/blues song... id love to hear the music to this :) thanks for sharing :f
