A sonnet for my crush as a college student, Prof. Nancy Bailey--who was (and is) as beautiful as she was tender and kind.

Sonnet: “A Student's Crush”

My lovely friend and favored professor,
is it so wrong to love and to admire
you with so amorous a deep splendor
that knows no limits—just heartfelt desire?
Your silhouette is my Achilles' heel
and your lips (what lips those are!) dare I kiss?
Your cheeks that blush with life and tint reveal
a sound and healthy form that moves my bliss.
Woe am I! my Gordion knot—a lust
for you that seizes me when you’re so near;
must I sweep under the ground and the dust
my urgent feelings for you that you fear?
If I were not your man-student, dear friend,
could I be more to you by this poem's end?

The student's love for their professors! Your words describe it vividly and there are few who have never fallen in love with a professor. The admiration, the love of knowledge is a tremendous and dangerous attraction. You write so well.
