Today we are together

In Togetherness

Even if there is so much
else that is part of you
and there is more to you
and the same is with me
even if you forget it at times
as i do too

We do have a thing or two in common
i remember the moment very well
when i said to myself as you
walked back from me
first time i have met a person who is
quite like me
i remember the moment very well

But its the intersection of our union
that holds us together
while the whole of us remain
floating in the two hemispheres

i love the sound of us
the smell of us
the sweat of us
the energy of us
the stillness of us
that's the essence
of us
infusing the whole of us

what we bring and bear in the
intersection of our union
infuses the whole of us
making us richer

That is exactly how the hearts throb
and we thrive

Thomas DeFreitas The PoetBay support member heart!
I like the fourth stanza ("the sound of us, the smell of us," etc.) best of all! An effective poetic insistence.

Thank you for posting!

one trick pony The PoetBay support member heart!
people talk of 'living in the moment'
you write of 'today,' appreciating what you have at the moment,
and thriving. nicely written, it's good to acknowledge these moments ~
