Just some musings as the sun rises over water to start another day

Carpe Diem

The sun in silent orange display
Rises to start another day
Quietly as a stalking cat
Surviels midnight's closing act

Then bursting out in heat and flame
It's splendour shouting once again
This day is yours to use at will
In high persuits or being still

I'm thinking of sunrise over the lake, having just returned from northern Minnesota. This is vivid, and the "silence/shouting" is terrific.

I like that the last two lines put the onus on the reader to use the day as they see fit, no passing the buck. Well done all around ~~~

The quiet cat. Excellent image! And then, yes, particularly in summer, it does shout! Thank you for posting this poem.
