The New American Poets (1960)

on his lunchbreak frank o'hara

jotted verses on the fly

in the mountains gary snyder

watched for fires while getting high

kaufman wrote for new directions

whalen wrote for city lights

rexroth englished asian poems

for his countless acolytes

kerouac had quite the stack of

novels heaped above his torso

san francisco marvelled at the

bardic verve of gregory corso

allen ginsberg had a baby

with a scruffy hippie beard

ferlinghetti shook his head and

said i'm sorry that's just weird

Hoo, hoo, hoo! :>o

All at Coo & Co are laughing joyously together, being fond of rhythm and rhyme. We enjoy list poems too! We must admit, we haven't read much on the whole, but we really like these descriptions. Watching for fires while getting high sounds good to us! :>)

Ah, another list poem. I like it very much. I will have to read all those poets/writers. So much to read, so less time.
