Having read Ashe’s “Nights” I recalled a poem about a dream I had written a few years ago. I repost it now to honour hers.

Rhapsody in Blue

The gown in liquid folds
Sky blue edged in indigo
Counterpoints her
White hair piled in thoughtful
Random fashion to reveal her
Alabaster shoulders
The scent of Lavender
Strapless
With the silhouette of a far
Younger woman
Grace and poise
Serenity and love
A full moon rising from the depths
Frames her in art nouveau
Facing away
Turning at my footstep
Her smile welcoming
Her opera gloved hand
Reaches out to mine
The touch electric
The orchestra
A rhapsody in blue
Gently drifting effortlessly
To eternity

The sea as an ageless ethereal lover. You're right Ashe.

Thank you, Josephus. This is indeed an honor, and that was quite a vivid and beautiful dream. It seems to me a metaphor for a vision of the ocean.
