Five Cinquains

I cross

The time-worn bridge,

Go to the other side

Of the city so that I can

Meet you.

Black clouds

Huddle closely,

The sky begins to weep.

Drenched in rain and soft memories,

I walk.

The Meet

Your face—

Lovely in pink,

In this warm café light,

With a final flash, makes my heart

Your voice,

Smooth and honeyed,

Spreading over my heart,

Melts my whole being. I'm in love

The Beginning

I take

Your hands in mine—

And all my agonies

Fall down dead. I open my soul

For you.

Lawrence Beck The PoetBay support member heart!
A very effective stop-motion sequence.

josephus The PoetBay support member heart!
Simply lovely. Each one a gentle riff, a melody with five movements.

one trick pony The PoetBay support member heart!
I am smiling, beaming, after reading these wonderful poems, each a gem. You convey heart and depth, longing and passion, and a simple desire to connect. This deceptively simple form suits you so well, better perhaps than the more formal forms you love to use to further your skill as a writer. This is your form, you own it.

Well done. Bookmarked.
