From October 2013, revised a bit since. The alert reader might detect coded references to Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush (41), and Clinton.

Hail to the Chief

Ich bin ein Hamburger, declared the President.

Good thing he didn't go to Frankfurt or Vienna.
Come, let us reason in season, old beagle-ears:

tanned, rested, and five-o'clock-shadowy,

playing checkers between speeches, up to old

tricks in the kitchen, making English muffins.

Pardon me for saying so, but this job ain't worth
peanuts. A peachy malaise o'ertakes Casa Blank.

It's midafternoon in America. There you go again,
trickling your fiscal wisdom down on us like voodoo.

A new breeze is blowing, and we're breaking

new wind. Read my lips: There's something fishy
about this sushi. Please stop thinking about
tomorrow. I still believe in a place called Nope.

Have you found your hope in the new administration? :)
Some have. But, seriously, the poem is priceless; the satire enjoyable.

Although I am unaware about the various political references, this poem made me smile. I love the humor and the wry satire.
