78th Letter

I write to you

from cloud-heaped New England.

A frail flurry

sways, gray

in a tristful wind.

My mind jumps and fidgets

in ninety-nine directions.

Peace, prattler!

(Archbishop Ramsey

once told an interviewer:

Today I prayed

for one minute.

But it took me twenty-nine

to get there.)

I feel the fidgeting of the mind, I'm there often! Happy New Year to you Thomas.

Minds can do that and you describe it well. I love the story at the end. Happy new year Tom.

I like the concluding stanza very much, and the way humor seeps through the lines. This I write to you from the suburbs of Kathmandu, a dusty bowl at the foothills of Himalayas, and wish you a very Happy New Year 2019, Tom. :)
