I have everything by Ann Wood

I HAVE EVERYTHING

I'm not material ... And I do not get money.
I do not slap on bills.
I do not sell conscience, nor do I lower my eyes
in front of the greed of eternal greed ...

Do not flatter the rich. Let them have it.
They, the money, the man do not.
Do not buy love, health, name ...
No light path leave ...

I have a modest table. And a tiny home.
I have a little bit, but it's me.
I have love, family, shelter ...
I need it. And I'm loved.

I believe strongly in one: so little is needed
to preserve dignity and name.
Nothing I give. But I do not want the other.
And I'm happy with as much as I have ...

Contentment is peaceful and peacefulness, contentment. Both of these are worth seeking. Your poem brought this to mind. Thanks for sharing.
