My thumb made you call me green. My pointer pointed out the falsity in that statement, and the middle finger popped right out to bask itself in your smug face. We laugh and I wonder if my ring finger would forever remain naked, since you wouldn't adorn it with jewels. No, instead you say, "isn't the red string of faith better? The promise made before we were?" the thread keeping the universe together. Tied to your weakest finger, the smallest one. To remind you that even the weakest part of you, is strong enough to hold the fabric of life together. And that that string is tied to the weakest point of me. To remind you of its fragility. Bound to our one true. I can always follow the red string to you.
