My second sonnet. This time I challenged myself to do 10 syllables per line, rhyme and to tell a story and have 14 lines.
Created January 2019.

Sonnet 2 - Journey

Winter white snow covers the cold mountains in the distance
As we gaze upon contrasting views of the haunting hills
We sit and watch beings climb up them this instance
Uncertainty hits as they glare upon snow as it spills
Into the night we go, wondering lost we shall be
How on earth are we going to find our way?
When there's nothing in front of us but white sea
Chilling wind penetrates our skin stopping us as we pray
Dear Lord send an angel to unveil a safe passage
Standing strong like a wall so nothing will stop us
Holding tightly to our items, they are all delicate baggage
The wall begins to falter when we start to discuss
- There seems to be sanctuary in this wintery frozen hell
- Realizing on this fateful night, death decided to save us
