Came to me as a song. Erko (Erskineville) and Alexandria are two of the city suburbs where I grew up. I apologize in advance for the warped sense of humour.

Good Richard of Erko

I’ll tell you the story of a brave young man
Good Richard of Erko
Great big grimace, face flat as a frying pan
Good Richard of Erko
He stared down a steamroller at twenty feet
Cheer as they roll him out along your street
Good Richard of Erko

They wanted to build a concrete parking lot
Wouldn’t you know
Good Richard refused to move off that spot
So he put on a show
They gathered around from all over the city
They even sold drinks
To hear him protest, and to sing an apt ditty
And sausages in links
Conservationists had such a long way to go
After Richard of Erko

As the sun rose high in the Alexandrian sky
Adding to the show
A great leviathan trundled down hill on high
Up to Richard of Erko
His legs they wobbled, feet did a wee dance
It ran right over him, he never had a chance
Poor Richard of Erko

Now many people say as you park your vehicle
You can hear weird screaming almost hysterical
One eyed Bill has heard it, even holy Uncle Joe
But fear not it just the foundations settling with....
Good Richard of Erko

I'm laughing in freezing Indiana. Thank you!
Did you draw pictures for this one? You're really good at too.

I like this one. And you needn't apologize for warped humour! It's said that one of W. H. Auden's favourite poems was this:

Into the drinking well
The plumber built her,
Aunt Maria fell:
We must buy a filter.

It came from a book called "Ruthless Rhymes for Heartless Homes"!

Love your humour, Dave. Makes me laugh and these days that’s quite a feat considering the melancholy in the media!

Well done, Dave!
