Baked Burgundy

Baked burgundy is so strange to me
I have never eaten a colour you see
But it stands there bold in the recipe

A sautéed silver now springs to mind
Roasted red cooked slightly overtime
A pureed purple is often quite sublime

You should take some time to partake
Of bright brown braised carmine cake
Weak sepia soup for your health’s sake

Culinary colours of some new dimension
There are so many that I could mention
But I 'll save you from tincture distention

Suffice to say that they all can be cooked
Not a single shade or tone is overlooked
But once eaten you’ll become hue hooked
