Dead & Gone

they gladly accept the
millionfold torture and killing of others
because they believe
that judgement in the
next life
will transform
their human folly
into cosmic wisdom
their craven imbecility
into conceptual strength
their nonchalant evil
into miraculous goodness

they have not learned
physics cares not
if they are dead or alive
the 'laws of nature'
do not change
just because
they lie rotting in the ground
