With immesne thanks to Thomas DeFreitas for helping me fix the rhythm of this blank sonnet.

Iíll Sally Out to You Tonight

Tonight I'll sally out to you, my love—

A casual stroll, a lazy amble—

Then I’ll pick up the pace: walk faster, farther,

Humming an old familiar melody,

Recalling moments blurred by passing time.

Desire will burn my limbs with avid flame,

My mind helpless against a welter of lust;

Keeping the pace and tune, thinking of bodies

Caught in a whirlpool of swirling sensations,

For a time, I'll be younger once again.

I'll stop in front of a lonely neon light,

Whisper dark secrets into its rusting ears;

Carrying just a spark in my tender flesh—

I'll bring my body, my soul to you tonight.

Yes, well done, Bibek. You build the tension throughout this poem expertly. We appreciate all the details too, such as the 'old familiar melody' and the 'old neon light'. There are some excellent metaphors too; we particularly like 'whirlpool of swirling sensations' :>)
