Tomorrow being my birthday, just a playful silly bunch of words about seventy five year olds and forgetfulness

When Thought And Reason Go Asunder

On my birthday's eve I chanced to try
A feat of strength that I would not
Have countenanced but for a die
Hard belief that age is ...I forgot

What my logic was in the lines above
So I must struggle with my thoughts
To find a cogent thread to help resolve
This twisted monologue of furry whatnots

That has wormed its way unannounced
Into my cluttered consciousness
A chaotic database at best renounced
For being a repository of nonsenseness

I love the teeter-totter-like progression from line to line. Nice work, birthday boy!

Happy birthday for tomorrow, Joe! :>)

All at Coo & Co wish you a delightful day. And we very much enjoyed reading this poem, for the humour, the rhymes, and particularly for 'a repository of nonsenseness', which sounds like the best sort of repository :>)

Happy birthday!
Sometimes we must let reason rest and love dance
A smile and a laugh is often free from thought
Thanks for sharing!
I wish you all the best my friend

We are poets! Our thought and reason may go haywire but if we keep our sense of humour, all is well. Happy birthday, kind sir!
