Quietly daydreaming of loves from long ago

A Day of Indulgence

It begins with crepes and strawberries
A touch of creme fraiche
Damp grass under bare feet and fairies
Sun bright and winds brisk

Seacliffs and birds calling their song
Checkered cloths with cold chicken
Chilled Sancerre and gruyere belong
To a feast to make the heart quicken

Winds buffet our clothes
Sun singes our skin
Your eyes alive
My heart in a spin

It ends by a fire
In a cottage serene
Your head on my chest
Our future a dream

I like this. Vivid, winsome, and fresher than the creme fraiche!
