Of ethnicities - well - more than 57
Actually.
I recall saying some years ago:
'I'd not be surprised to be told
That here in Ramsgate there is
A native North American Indian living in this
Town '
Well guess what - not long after
I said that - I were informed
There is at least one such who indeed
Lives in my town of Ramsgate!
A woman who is of Part Cherokee ethnicity
Now England and it is of England I write of
Long before Rome invaded and colonized
Migrants have arrived - set up home in this green
And pleasant land for thousands of years
'This England and you are The English ' were declared
That were said at Pegwell Bay Ramsgate
Long long ago
Even our language came from migrants
English has it's origins from Friesland
The English reputation of being rather stubborn
Owes that to Fresland
When The Normans invaded England
William The Bastard - ordered that the conquered English speak Norman French
The English refused - saying - NA - NO
In the 1930's the Dutch guvernmant told the Frieslanders to speak Dutch
They said NA - NOA!
So The English and Frieslanders have much in common!
A stubborn bunch!

Migrants from near and far - world wide
The U S A are the new kids on the block
