Numbering the Stars

Sometimes when your
little children come up to you
and ask,
"How many stars are
in the sky tonight,
Mommy?",
you wish you knew,
but you tell her
you don't know.
I, too, sometimes wish
I knew how many there are up there,
each night.
But stars weren't meant
to be counted,
to be numbered.
I think we should use them
as an example to all people,
to be like a star,
shining brightly in
the darkness.
You shouldn't spend your time...
Numbering the Stars.
