CYCLISTS - ANARCHISTS - IN THE U K (A Work In Proges)

Now it is said well I say
Cyclists in the U K
Are the most
Successful Anarchist
In the history of Anarchy
With not going into battle
No repealing of laws
Cyclists took over
The pavements
Center of towns & city's
That had been pedestrians only
Not so very long ago

One way streets
Traffic lights
Cycle lights front & rear
Bicycle in good order
All of that doss not apply
To today's cyclist

Cyclists took over
Not a tuppenny damn
Should as and when a perdestrean is rode into
Now pedestrians must be on the look out
Pedestrians beware - cyclist need not care
Cyclist you can ride side by side deep in
Conversation while riding on the pavement
Use their mobile phone no need to bother about any law
Nor bother having hands on the handlebars
Listen to their Ipods - hands free
Pedestrians should now walk the Indian way
Single file eyes those of the crab boss eye
Left and right eye looking sideways

Cyclist showing of their party ricks
Now no need for recreational parks
They can now be built on
Weaving through the bus ques
Cycling close to front doors of houses and shops

When a pedestrian is rode into
It plainly the pedestrian to blame
And should be charged with with the crime
The cyclist is always incessant of course
Cyclist rule!

Thats the way it is now!

Much of what you say is too true. The 2 main shopping areas in my city are Sauchiehall street and Buchanan street. Both very busy and both Pedestrian precincts for as long as I can remember. Nowadays you take your life in your hands as you dodge the cyclists (and I say that as an enthusiastic cyclist). The law on cycling seem to have been abandoned. Speaking to a friend of the legal persuasion, she advised me that it is all in the definition of "Pedestrian" - a person who is walking, especially in an area where vehicles go. SO, it would seem the have every right to be on pedestrian area's but should (only should) observe the safety of all others and themselves.
Nonetheless, another interesting piece from you. Thanks for sharing.
