"woman in the dunes," kōbō abe

isolation, are we at the bottom of a hole looking up?

weight

my shoulders ache

from lying on my back

reading in bed

holding up this book

with my right arm

my left arm

both arms

until the weight of it

seems too immense to hold any longer

a paperback

a book of no weight

is more than i can bear

~

there are other weights

as heavy

Kathy Lockhart
I haven’t visited for a very long while. Yours is the first I read.
Amazing how few words
Written just so
Create such emotion
Such a physical reaction

That’s Poetry.

Thank you

Your readers see and feel what the poet wants us to see and feel. And it might even be said that we see and feel what you, the poet, see and feel. Well done.

Couldn’t agree more, Jim. Stay safe my friend. These are the dangerous times. Hang in there.
