Funks, Fogs, and Frustrations of Life
Carpe Diem
Seize the day
as i waste my life away
only moving inch by inch
slowly sinking into the trench
that suffering erodes out through the years
filling it up with my own tears
lying prone with my face down
hoping that the tears will drown
all that plagues and gnaws at me
setting my tortured soul free
giving me another chance
to live a life that moves in dance
floating on ballerina feet
lightly touching freedom's street
as i move from my own captivity
twirling in laughter of what should be
waking up in each new day
eager to get out, work, and play
Carpe Diem, seize the day
don't let me waste my life away.
