Words that float

i remember writing letters
in ink
with a few words smudged
because of the tears
i guess it would always happen
that a few sentences washed away
like that
to date this happens
when the words start floating
before my eyes
becoming fuzzy
either because
eyes are brimming
or that
i have forgotten to breathe.
