Let's be Clear About Who Will Bear the Blame
Consider the United States, collosal in its arrogance,
Untouched by war, unschooled, self-righteous,
Calling itself master of the planet for some eighty
Years. Consider, then, its adversaries, one attacked,
Almost destroyed, not once, but twice by western
Powers, vowing not to be again, the other conquered
Many times, and occupied, humiliated, likewise,
Bent on standing up to those who aim to humble it.
The U.S. will go on assuming that it cannot be
Restrained. It pushes eastward, threatening Russia,
Circles China like a shark. Too arrogant and ignorant
To understand how others view it, in the not-too
Distant future, it will cause a world war.
