Last Breath

I step outside, it begins to rain.
I yell in agony, I scream in pain.
Alone in life, my heart in chains.
Each hour that passes, less time remains.

I hate this game, I never win.
My heart barely beats, please let me in.
Pretending not to cry, waiting for you to call.
Smiling behind the lie, trying not to fall.

The day turns to night, I start to pray.
Not wanting to sleep, I wish you would stay.
So quiet at night, it seems like death.
I finally realize, I'm taking my last breath.
