A New Morning
I woke up this morningWith one thing in mind
A day without warning
The old left behind
The sky was blue
The clouds had sprout
My emotions grew
I was out and about
In my car I drove
Around the city to see
The little treasure trove
Of flowers for me
The sights, the sounds, overwhelmed me
I couldnt believe that I was free
The day filled with so much hope
Everything I wanted contained in this scope
Afternoon now here, lunchtime now present
One hot dog for me, 2.00 I've spent
Ice cream after, my tummy now complete
Off to my date who I was due to meet
There she was, beautiful as ever
I had made a good choice, boy was I clever
In arm we went to the movies and the beach
This love was in perfect reach
The sun had set, night was here
I walked my date to her house, filled with cheer
The day was successful, filled with bliss
Was no surprise when I recieved a kiss
Home at last, my bed was near
All was good, all was sincere
Tomorrow, a new chance for affection
And continued tries at perfection
