how small the gap is between the door closing, and the door opening

Alone With Everyone

Can you help me, find a way out?
These walls are too thin,
And the known is transforming
We are alone with everyone.

Obviously tampered with.
Look what you've done
Is this what you had in mind?
Is this something that's just been taken?

You'll be old, and you'll still be tall
A dream of what happened over and over again.
The pain of losing.
There is grief and there is sadness over that.

What shape is the right one?
Not circle- there are no edges
Square is too symmetrical
I guess the puzzle doesn't fit.

Forced to become something brutal.
If something shows signs of difference,
We must suppress it into oblivion,
At all costs.

But oh, how this window is closing
Like a stoma in the desert
Hairy, and losing water fast
Too fast to combat alone.

Paying attention?
I don't care.
If you're not going to follow the system,
We might as well try to burn it.

Not that you'll get anywhere.
