I am indebted to the poet named Kath from poeter.se who kindly agreed for me to use her phrase 'The bugles of hell' This poem is a love poem and an anti war poem of sorts

The Bugles of Hell by M.A.Meddings

Think of me when all your dreams
Have gone
And all around you
Say that I have died
I have not
I shall return
When summer blooms again
And the bugles of hell
Have found the last peace
Then
Await my return
With anticipation

Kathy Lockhart
lovely piece so haunting and revealing in its voice. The sadness is evident and the longing to be reunited is touching. xx Kathy
