hehe, you can ignore this if you want. I just had to put it somewhere

There are some issues i have with my school. Firstly, i think it is totally unfair to have a teacher pop an essay on you and say, "ok this is going to count as a test grade, you have 30 minutes, please begin." But what really gets to me is when you write that paper perfectly and at the end you have one little typo (women instead of woman) and ten points is taken off your grade. Now i wouldn't mind this so much if the same thing had happened to others, but no. A girl got her paper back with 4 mis-spelled words, and red marks all over her paper, and only 5 points were taken off. You might think i'm a bit over the top for thinking this, but i feel this is COMPLETELY UNFAIR!

If you knew your stuff, being asked to write the essay in 30 minutes or 30 days notice shouldn't make any difference. Marking is something else and if you think it unfair, you DO have the right to ask the teacher to go over the paper with you and explain your errors. But then again there is nothing like a good old rant for making you feel better about things, right? ;o)

Not exactly what you would call interesting, is it?

I believe it is normal practice to spell "I" with a capital. So your teacher should have deducted 30 not 10.
