The Game

"The art of life is to show your hand. There is no diplomacy like candor. You may lose it now and then, but it will be a loss well gained if you do."- E.V. Lucas

Chequers, black and white squares
Hungry for the plastic pieces
Now the board is full so
work out a game plan
Manoevre your pawns

Assume a character
Choose a token
Stack the masks for easy access
Chop and change and shift
With each roll of the dice

Go directly to hell
Do not pass redemption
Stay in a corner while
All around people buzz
Zipping round the path

Pick a card,
draw from my hand
Keep it safe aside
Sip from wells deep in your mind
Take a lucky dip

Repetition makes belief
Easier to follow
So swallow up, they'll follow suit
Happiness in disrepute
We all play the part

we all are just pawns.. but we play as other things... the hierarchy of life is so confusing, but in the end we all lose? or win?

it's so subjective.

wonderful poem here, more "caila magic" =)
