oh if I could tell you of the discussions we had in my college Art History class over how do you judge someone else's creation or how do you tell good art from bad art? Boy, you hit on an age old artsie-fartsie debate. I myself have no idea how you are supposed to rate a poem or piece of art. Unless of course you are an art teacher grading on technique or an english/lit. teacher grading on grammer etc. but how do you rate, emotion and the expression of it? Good for you for writing this, I agree.

It's a click habit, I always do it. But I agree with your premise that what is one's pie is another's prune. I like the comments better that the rate.

Of course you can't rate poetry, as little as you can make poetry contests... it's absurd. One hates what the other likes, and all is just a matter of personal tastes., All the same, I like a good poem when I see one, and then it's nice to give it a high acclaim... I never gave less than a 4 to anyone, but mostly I gave 5s...
