I hear the commercials,
Of the dedciated USO,
Their creed is,
"Until everyone comes home",
But I know that I'm lovingly selfish,
I hear speech after speech,
See scene after scene,
But I can't and won't,
Take my eyes off of you,
The kids are growing so fast,
But they miss you like I do,
All I want is here, alive,
I need you, not a memory,
I know it selfish, but that is only fear,
To lose what I need the most,
My partner, a hero is what you always were,
I understand, I understand,
But I can't take my eyes off of you,
Fools take sides, but never solve problems,
The wise choose problems, but have no solution,
Not yet,
Where are their sons and daughters,
Husbands and wives, and so on?,
I'm selfish, I know,
I just want you home,
I just want you home,
I see your face in our childrens eyes,
Sometimes I can't even look at them,
But at the same time, I love them more,
Because they are more than reflections of me,
There are the very essence of you,
And kissing their little cheeks and boo-boos,
Is almost the same as doing the same to you,
I am your dedicated spouse,
Your dedicated friend,
But I cannot take my mind off of you,
Because I won't,
Until you finally come home,
The dancer moves without a trace,
