All at sea

I thought life was all about chasing women,
Until I got robbed by a lady.

Then I thought life was all about money,
Until I saw an old woman leave her riches
For her cat.

Then I thought life was about
Taking drugs and getting high,
Until I was locked up by the police.

Then I thought of working hard,
And I saw my self pick my first academic award,
And my dad whisper to
His friends for the first time,
That's my son, am proud of him.

Gutsy and 'feeling' rich. Excellent piece.

I think this is a fantastic poem, I love the brutal truth within it. If this poem was a film , there wouldn't be a dry eye in the house, with that ending. superb. Steve
