describes my life

where i am from

I am from nothing

I am from everything
From a deep soul twisted and contorted from life's lessons learned

From a city showered with sunlight that only the functional can see
The unfunctional are tossed aside like an empty starbucks coffee cup never to see the light

I am from music that drains the deepest parts
Notes that link together and sing of a father lost

I am from a father who was never there
And a mom who was in body but not in mind broken by little orange bottles

I am terra firma from the earth deep down that screams
All great things start from dust

Dust is where I'm from but not who I am

I am from hope that springs eternal not wanting the path that was marked for
it

I chose to be a new breed not from the nothing but
From the something that is substance and pure

From the light yes I made the switch from the darkness
Never to return

The notes remind me never to go back
Because in the darkness is where, life lost

i have forgotten where I am from

Because where I am from

is somewhere I never wanted to be

I am from nothing and everything
I disown my past and all the vices that were in it

It's not important where I'm from
But were I am
I am home
In a life I've always wanted to live-
In the light
