Troubled Memories

Our names in the snow have long since melted
and my life hangs
on the cold mountain face of that last goodbye
I've stood and listened to the saxophone player
and seen your shadow dance
now neon memories just flicker by
as my heart beats in time with the past
I remember standing facing all your pain
as you begged me to turn away
I am still there in that moment
my body has left but my spirit remains.

I cast my thoughts across the lake
where our troubled memories dwell
I hear my heart whisper softly
confused and still so hard to tell
the reason why i surrendered
and fell right through your life
into a world of uncertainty
where the shadows court the night
where a fallen angel dressed in black
lifts my soul to greet the stars
I feel the melancholy of the future
as the present collides into the past.

Mr.Mist
Almost made me cry...
Love the start:
"Our names in the snow have long since melted
and my life hangs
on the cold mountain face of that last goodbye"

It tells bout a broken heart in pain of missing the one it loves.
A great metaphor you have used in this poem!!

This is Bookmarked, and will be read over, and over again!!!
