I Wish I Could Be Your Rescue

Oh how sad you look today.
I wish I could make it all go away.
The bodyaches and the teardrops too.
I wish I could be your rescue.

You're young and wise but nevertheless
ordinary life keeps you distressed.
Feeling sick to the very core.
Physical pain is hard to ignore.

I look into your eyes
and see through all your lies.
You say that you are well,
but you're not, I can tell.

So tell me about your injuries.
I'm sure you will get rid of these,
if I hold you for just a while,
maybe life will be worthwhile.

Oh how sad you look today.
I wish I could make it all go away.
The bodyaches and the teardrops too.
I wish I could be your rescue.

Kathy Lockhart
sweet, tender, and caring poetry for this one who is in pain. It flowed like honey.
