Oh! Henry?

A Farewell to Arms ?

Another text stood not alone
in long and hallowed aisles
lined with novels from the greats
evoking tears and smiles.

I saw the name of Hemingway
and thought how earnestly
this tale of farewells to one's arms
be told so painfully.

I pictured just some body's form,
a paraplegiac's woe,
then thought perhaps a time of peace
where bloodless rivers flow.

Then flipped I through a page or two
to find before too late
a tale of love, of war and peace
of Henry and his Kate.
