War and Peace, A Toll Stoy

Voyna i Mir

This is not a Talltale
but it IS a Tollstory
by Leo Tolstoy,
so the cover says;
Time calls it number three all-time
(Karenina holds onto number one)
Could Moby Dick be number two?
and book is very thick –
must be for subject wide so much
of range to read – on subject: two –
a War – which one? and Peace?
Where does that word apply?
Unless all violence and conflicts cease,
so many more will die
shot with a French bazooka?
or some Bezukhov named Pierre?
Alas, alack! O lass, I lack a
lass with Russian name, Nasasha.
So much to read, too much to feed
this tired mind – too much for me.
Let's see – there's still Dostoevsky,
wearing his Fedora, poor Fyodor,
my Punishment, his Crime,
should I bother to axe
him why he did it
or read it and relax?
