I Did What You Said, I Stayed By Your Side
"Hello, beautiful." Are the words that stand out.
When I think about the first time you ask me out.
I remember, at first I looked you and said, "No."
But, quickly changed my mind cause you never know,
This connection could possibly one day grow.
Little did I know that you'd come into my life,
And wake inside of me this bright shining light.
I've never felt so much pleasurable bliss.
Something, believe me that I'll surely miss.
Instantly, giving you all of my heart.
Unfortunately, certain events tore us apart.
I did what you said, I stayed by your side,
Through all the rough times, while hurting inside,
But I'll always love you and all the good times.
Even after you continually hurt my pride.
I did what you said, I stayed by your side,
Even after you hurt me time after time.
I forgave and loved you cause I thought you were mine.
Till one day I saw you and thought you saw me, too.
Then I heard you say the some words to someone new,
"If you truly love me, then you'll stay by my side."
Crush and amazed how I could've been so blind.
I thought I was the only one you said those words too.
I felt so betrayed, what a fool, that was last time I felt love for you.
