i'm glad i decided not to take these.

anti-depressants

popping pills perpetually,
breathes of wreckage and righteous abandon.
where's the coffee, the alchemist's brew?
salvation wrought by the beans from brazil
pill-killers intake more and more
the pill-whores reeking of ignorance.

just let the embers cool, the fire's out.

Elle The PoetBay support member heart!
have taken anti depressents in my time and found they did nothing but dull the senses and leave me perpetually tired - they never solved the underlying reason, I had to do that on my own - once the problem found, only then can you detox. Good poem

My theory is that poets all are depressive. Good job!

Me too. they inhibit our mad cap creativity imo, I like to wear it occasionally! Nice work. I must admit to having taken a taste for ground coffee of late! gives u quit a zzzzzzzzzzzzipy feeling. I think anti-depressants work for some, but not for all, especially creative types, it is all wrapped in the same package, so to speak. Smiling at you, Tai
