A sonnet

Raindrops

Beads of colourful hue cling tight to skin,
steaming mist rising from the earth appears.
On its axis it continues to spin
while locked in embrace we shrug off the years.
Bringing to mind the moment we locked eyes,
just as clouds burst forth their transparent tears
and bathed us in crystals from diamond skies,
we stay till the jewel encrusted sky clears.
The touch of your hand placed inside my own
stirs feelings within that heighten and thrill.
For when that first raindrop fell, love was shown
which when brought to mind, brings smiles to me still.
And now as we stand once more in the rain,
we're back in that moment, young once again.
