Forevermore (A Petrarchan Sonnet)

When last I left my heart enthralled by you
I knew my care had not been placed in vain
that we would surely rise to meet again
to fill our hearts with love that only two
could solely bring heart bliss in all we do,
and of it all we two would then sustain.
Yet I to you do sing of this refrain
in afterglow as we bid fond adieu.

Remember me where peaceful waters flow
in trickle rivers as they calm cascade
to hear our plea where love sings in our core
my heart to yours in oneness I bestow
so never shall yours ever feel betrayed
and always will it love forevermore.

There are moments in life when this is all we can say, and you have said it with elegance, as always your poetry rocks..loved it....JC

This isn't fair! I do my best to sneer at love poems, because 99% of them are crud. You are at the top of the 1% that are fine at writing them.
