Just a bit of nonsense for my grandaughters to cheer them up.

Dumpleweed.

I am the King of Dumpleweed

A Dumple king am I

With all my little Dumplings

Who are a little shy

We live a life of happiness

Full of fun and filled with glee

Upon a dump in nowhere land

Where others cannot see

For what to you is all but trash

To us is treasure trove

The sweetest smell in all the world

And not unlike a rose

So next time you go down the dump

Be careful where you stand

For though you cannot see us

You may be standing on my hand.

Lovely and funny childrens poetry Graham - I used to write a bit of children's poetry from time to time - but haven't for ages. What lucky granddaughters to have a grandfather to write them poems
