An English Sonnet

In The Wake of Love

Your loving fingers around mine do clasp
while we pass through pearl coated bluebell wood.
A kiss upon my skin brings forth a gasp
while love lingers on the spot we once stood.
Our passion soars across expanses vast
and stars alight midst love's ignited flame.
You've bought beauty to my present and past
and our future boasts of bringing the same.
And when my love, you are away from me,
when we kiss and bid each other goodbye,
in each place I do leave your memory,
and wait for your return with longing sighs.
Our lives are filled with summer sounds and song,
for you are mine, and to you I belong.
