This poem's roots come from a conversation Michael and I had. The phrase "the real thing" came up and we thought it would be a good title for a poem. This is the result. It's always a pleasure writing with the lastromantichero. : )

The Real Thing co-written with Michael Meddings

But my darling didnt you realize
Love is love and cannot be denied
Especially when it is the real thing

It is what I have been searching for
The real, the true, the good, the pure
Yes, my love, I have found it in you

you are the lovely summers day
i had been waiting for
please take my beating heart i do implore

I take your heart and keep it safe
It beats right next to mine
O the beauty of two hearts entwined

And I  do give you all my love As in enchanted spring
We found two hearts of ours entwined
Within this love this rhapsody it's called the real thing

In all the Earth and in all the Heavens
The purity of love reigns true
It's the blessings of eternity; my heart I give to you

You two are wonderful. Your co-writes are beautiful testiments to your love and to romance itself. You are today's Elizabeth and Robert. Maybe they will make a movie about you someday!
