to my last romantic hero

A Journey to Love

I looked for you in the palm of my hand
I searched for you in seers and guides
I walked among the living and dead
Always seeking the one unseen at my side
From childish games of numbers and names
To teenage Quija Board crusades
Ever a journey to find the mate of my soul
Wishing and dreaming a relentless parade
For hopeful loving in other's eyes
But none were true and none the kind
That brought me all the love that you do
Until I washed upon this poetic bay
And found the peace of loving you

How sweet! This is a delight. I love the wandering search and the beautiful treasure at the end.

A neat conception, and a clever turn of phrase in line 12!

Kathy, my friend, that truly shows the path we all take trying to find the right one! I tried the Ouija once and it told me that i would marry the one girl in my HS that I would not touch if my life depended on it. At the time I was very much in love with her sister. :)
