The haiku refers to the drapery on the armless nude Venus in Louvre Museum. In the figure the gown has slipped from her shoulder and is tied in a knot on her arm and in both the folds of the drapery flow round the body, but are tight over breast and belly

He stands before

the nude venus awaiting

her gown to drop
