i guess we will never find out
and each broken heart's got a story to tell

i hear this old song and i hold back my tears
as i ride through the city today
i think to myself: "these are wonderful years!
i' ll stay by your side, come what may!"
i crave you tonight
my desire's so hot
i look at your photo again
your eyes burning bright
your sweet words mean a lot
i' ll meet you, my darling
till then...
light a candle for me in your window
sing our songs when you drive in your car

and at night you' re my bright shining star
God gave you your beauty
it's simply divine
