My Last Adieu

Be not concerned with this my last adieu
For I have no wish my dear to see you cry
But I am low in spirit without you
With need to soar once more in clear blue sky
What good a love that I can never hold
I need to wake in morn and you embrace
I need your presence to my arms enfold
I need the pain of distance to erase
I would you know my love for you was real
Transcending palisades of space and time
But the tolling of the bell rings a sad peal
I hear it, and my tears a salted brine
And so my dear I bid you fond farewell
As lonely tears roll from my misted eyes
The teardrops on this letter you can tell
Make this for me the saddest of goodbyes.
Brendan.
